About - LCA Academy & Agency

We are extremely proud of the reputation that LCA Academy has gained since we opened our doors in November 2019. Class places have rapidly become filled to capacity and the Academy has developed into an environment where students can thrive, build confidence, learn new skills, make friends and develop their talents.

LCA which stands for ‘Lights, Camera, Action!’ was created by TV and Film actress Eleanor Ham who has appeared in many films and programmes shown on platforms such as CBBC, ITV, SKY, BBC, Marvel, Netflix and Disney as well as music videos, commercials and marketing campaigns! Eleanor wanted to give aspiring performers of the Midlands a chance to develop these specific performance skills and have the opportunity to break into the professional industry.

“My ambition was always to act on TV and the only classes available were theatre based with no insight into the TV/ Film industry. To get an agent is also really tough with lots of competition, so I wanted to ensure students could come to a place where they learn not only how to act for TV and Film but also how the industry works and how they can prepare for a professional career if they wish to. We also have an Agency which gives students and non students aged 16+ a platform to enable them to be submitted for industry opportunities and projects including commercial campaigns, TV Series, Feature & Short Films, Music Videos & Theatre Productions.”

LCA Academy is much more than a Performing Arts School. Being run by a professional working actress, Eleanor is able to share her own experiences and give a huge insight to help prepare the students for a career in the industry, and to enhance this offers Masterclasses and Workshops for students with other industry professionals. Lessons at LCA are fast paced and fun and compliment performing arts taught in the national curriculum in an exciting and engaging way. Uniquely the students are filmed delivering their performances during lessons and the videos are sent to parents. The parents love this, it means they can see what the students have been doing during lessons and also how their child is developing their skills and confidence. LCA also have an annual ‘LCA Oscars‘ Film and Awards Ceremony. In 2025 9 short films were specifically written to ensure all 270 students had a part were premiered in front of 600 people at the red carpet event. LCA really is a unique academy, always going the extra mile to give students the best experiences possible whether they want to progress in acting as a profession or just to have fun, build confidence and make new friends! Check out our brilliant LCA staff members below!
